Seized dogs at home soon ready for adoption - WAFF

An animal rescue group took control of dozens of dogs seized in an investigation of cruelty to animals.


Finally check, 38 dogs ready for adoption. They moved a Madison animal clinic in the shelter of the region Friday.


During this time, the loads are pending in this investigation.


Some puppies were born two days ago. They have survived terrible living conditions that were inside a House on the promenade of Crestview in Madison.


The puppies leave the clinic Animal Whitworth Madison to go to shelters where they await you for a new owner to adopt.


Police said that an elderly couple lived in the House with 85 dogs. Some were already dead.


Charges are pending in the case, but no arrests have been made.


"I cannot say much because there is an ongoing investigation, but what I can say, is that they were well fed..." "They seem well socialized," said Miki Bennett. "They did not have veterinary care, not the bathroom, and they were allowed to go to the bathroom in the House."


Bennett is Director of the Madison Animal Rescue Foundation. It coordinates the process of adopting the dog.


The Ark in Huntsville animal shelter is also home to 15 of the dogs until they are ready for adoption. They had 16 dogs, but a puppy is dead.


Founder, Nina Beal, said that small had a long way to follow.


"They have not been approved as their shots or worm of audit or control of heartworm or sterilized or sterilization - all this has to be done," said Beal.  "We need a health of our veterinarian before they can be adopted, and then we welcome people to come and look."


Bennett said that it does not appear that the owners abused dogs. She said that they did not only draw the attention appropriate in unhygienic conditions.


"We believe that they are in good health, but we are still by train through the validation." Yesterday their support, became mainly just for their safety. "Today is their moves, their reviews - cause for removal or neutral", she said.


Police said that the investigation of animal cruelty can continue until next week.
